Hi there,
I am Dr. Rob. I am a very successful surgeon who has been in the field for 16 years in a thriving practice. With all the accomplishments, recognitions, and monetary rewards, I find myself still wanting to be more, wanting to do more, and wanting to expand my humanity.. I feel like no matter how great I become, there is still room to become better. I also knew that in order to do better and have more, I needed to become what I haven’t been before.. I discovered that success often can be short-lived. Oftentimes, one is left with the feeling of… is that all there is?
I realized that success is worth it, but not enough.. As one arrives at the goal line of life, they have often achieved many things money can buy but have little of what money cannot buy… Does this sound like you? The road to achievement, reaching your full potential, and escaping the trap of living an average life can be “impossible”. The bottom is overcrowded. For some, the bottom simply is the default position due to lack of access to mentors .. One must surely arrive! The question is where?!. A mentor is similar to a GPS.. They help you to recalculate.. They also already know your destination because they have been there themselves.

Dr. Rob is a board-certified, fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon. He has been practicing surgery for 16 years.
Dr. Rob completed both undergraduate and medical education at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He completed his residency at Nassau University Medical Center in Long Island, NY. He finished fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. At the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Rob was a Visiting Fellow. There he trained in advanced re-operative abdominal surgery, pelvic surgery, and Re-Do rectal surgery.
After completing a successful fellowship, Dr. Amajoyi joined the Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital in Long Island NY as a clinical staff, where he completed five years of service. There, he served as the Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program, Director of the Robotic Surgery Residency Education and Co-Director of Surgical Endoscopy Education.
Dr. Rob presently serves as the Director of the Rectal Cancer program at the Saint Luke’s Cancer Institute. He provides clinical care at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City and Saint Luke’s Hospital East in Lee Summit. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine.
At the international level, he was recently appointed the Chair of Colorectal Surgery by the prestigious International College of Surgeons. Dr. Rob is an active participant in academic discovery. He has authored many articles, book chapters, abstracts, and reviews. He has presented his findings at national and international meetings.
Dr. Rob specializes in treating rectal cancer, colon cancer, anal cancer, sigmoid diverticulitis, rectal prolapse, and inflammatory bowel. His clinical interests include robotic rectal cancer surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and colon cancer surgery.
Outside of Academic Medicine, Dr. Rob loves studying the mind, self-mastery, personal development, speaking, philanthropy and expanding his humanity. He loves mentoring and coaching people towards becoming more successful than him. He is an associate producer of the recently released film Black Men in White Coats Rise up. The film is a movement towards getting more young black males interested in going into medicine.
He recently launched the Unstuck Lifestyle; a company that specializes in mentoring and coaching young professionals. The company wants to encourage and bring in brown and black male professionals. Overall, the company is especially geared towards those in Allied Care who want to thrive and to live an unstuck life no matter what the circumstances are!
